Cape Cod Bed and Breakfast, a refuge in the storm

by Donna Cain, Innkeeper and owner

Happy to report that all is well at our two Cape Cod Bed and Breakfasts after Nemo made an extended visit to Cape Cod this past weekend!

We did have to cancel the cooking school that was scheduled at the Captain Freeman and were thankful we did after loosing power on Friday. We always like to think of our two bed and breakfasts, Brewster by the Sea and Captain Freeman Inn as a wonderful refuge for our guests. And this past weekend two of our guest rooms became a refuge for us……all 4 of us…Donna, Byron, Nanna and Harrison hunkered in to our Beach Blossom and Refugio Suite which have gas fireplaces. As the wind howled outside we sat by the fire, sharing stories while I knitted and ┬áByron was happy to have quiet time to finish a book . We never allow Harrison in the guest rooms, so he was a little confused at first, but when his food bowl came over all was well. We also took time to venture out and get some some good pictures.

Life is back to normal with Brewster by the Sea being “happily full” for the weekend. Many of the guests are indulging in a spa or relaxing in their fireside room with a movie from the inn’s extensive library. There is something very special about Cape Cod in the quiet season…..a definite refuge!
